GROUP TOURS IN THE PHILIPPINES !!!

Hi Everyone,,,
I am looking for some advise/information/recommendations from anyone that have been on group tours in the Philippines.
I am here from Canada for the next six months and my girlfriend and I are maybe trying to go on one or two tours while I am here.
We live in Manila and she is in her late 40's and I am in my early 60's. So we would be more interested in a group around our age.

Thank you in advance for your help,,

What areas do you want to see?

My name is ABDUL...i live here in Cebu...if u want anything in Cebu regards to your tour or information....i can be of assistance to you....my contacts is....+639275293659,[email protected] feel free to get intouch wth me....you are highly welcome....

If you have any interest in history you might want to take a boat to Coregidor Island in Manila Bay, about a 50 minute boat ride from the Manila Yacht Club.  The island looks like it is 1945, and a tour bus will get you around.  The gun emplacements have some original pieces made by Bethlehem Steel over 100 years ago.  You can stay on the island overnight if you like, but most take the trip back to the Yacht Club the same day.

Were I live I would go to the bus station.  Main station.  I see the buss's leave from there and return to there.  And ask.  They have a ticket seller and information desk there as well.   I often take the cobra from there for day trips but that is not a tour.  Just go were I wish. Very cheap to do that way. Load up my back pack and get on a bus take off. The agg. bus is even cheaper and stops were ever you wish to get off and see.  Wander a few small towns and markets for the day. Discover new beach's, take a foot path up threw the jungle. Wander back to the road near dark and have a buss stop and take you back to the city. After dark best to wander into town and get a bus in a lighted area.  Or spend the night were at. Buss will pass you buy standing beside the road after dark and not knowing you.

Just as long that you are not on the road late in the evening unless you have a trusted escort! I am a Fil-Canadian from Richmond, Vancouver; just post your question and I hope I can help

We are looking for any suggestions in the Philippines for now but would probably expand to other parts of Asia in the later years.

Hi Mugtech
We actually took that trip last year and we were very pleased with it. Liked it so much we ended up staying there two nights. The only thing I would do next time is bring bikes with us.
I would definitely recommend Corregidor Island to anyone.

Sounds like great day trips if we are ever in your area maybe we can join you on one.

In Manila, you can go to Corregidor (you can stay overnight here); take a taxi going to the Cultural Center tell the driver drop you to the terminal; I do not remember the schedule of the boat now so maybe before that day of your trip you can go to the area in Roxas Blvd;

As always this area is a tourist area and your wife will know this! As I always advise keep safe!

It has been my favorite so far.  I don't know if you would like to explore northern Luzon, we are located about 25 minutes south of Vigan, the provincial capital of Ilocos Sur, a very quaint Spanish town with a museum and calesa rides available.  It is a 9 hour bus ride on a good day from Manila to our place, the Partas (air conditioned) bus goes all the way to Laoag in Ilocos Norte, another 90 minutes.  Bus fare from Manila for us was 653 pesos each, not bad.  Another spot you might want to check out at the southern tip of Lingayan Gulf is 100 Islands.  You get to go to a few of the islands and the food there was very good.  For me I imagined US PT boats raiding and hiding from the Japanese in 1942.  And I am sure you have heard of Baguio City, the Summer Capital, where it went down to 60 F one night when we were there.  Unfortunately we will not be available in Ilocos Sur until next October at the earliest, as I will be working until I retire in April of 2015.  I am 65 and my wife is 60, so hopefully you will be back next year at this time and we can connect on some trips.

Hi Mugtech,
Just returned from a short trip to Cabiao, Nueva Ecija. About 3 hours from Manila,we were there for a family funeral. Quite the experience to say the least.
I am sure you are looking forward to your retirement and spending more time here in the Philippines. I will be here till May/15 and will be returning to Canada. And than returning to Manila October/15 for another seven months. So hopefully we can get together for a trip at that time somewheres.
We are actually leaving for a 3/4 day trip this Thursday November/20th. For Vigan, with a group from Inter Nations. It's a tour group of approximately ten people. We leave Thursday evening and return Sunday night. Should be an interesting trip. I will let you know how we found the tour on how return.

We will probably pass each other on the road, for I am heading to Manila that day to catch a 12:20 PM 11/21 flight to Hong Kong and then Newark.  There is a nice light, water and music show in Vigan at 7:30 PM, hope you get to see it.

Hi! Dreal1,

Got your post and your interest in group tour in the Philippines. Sir, if you are looking for a city kind of tour in a 5 start accommodations and visit to malls, i cannot help you with that.  But if you want to try a life in a tropical island, with white crystal beaches, go island hoping, experiences coconut and rice fields visits and even try first hand how the locals do it, seeing the place where the last naval battles between japan and us naval forces happened, then i will invite you to our island. In fact , You can just walk around and enjoy meeting the friendly locals, its a life away from the hassles of the city and nearest to nature.

The place is in northern in Mindanao and and it is 100% safe there.  Mindanao island is so big that the only troubled spots are in the southern most areas, which are predominantly muslim communities. besides, there are foreign population there.  They are married to locals.

Should you and your group be interested, please give me your email address so i can send you some pictures.  I also have a Canadian friend who comes every 6 months and he is arriving this month.  My email is: [email protected].  Hope to hear from you.

Were I live I would go to the Cobra terminal on my side of town.  There is another down town but only came in there one night late.  I would then ask at the tour counter what is offered. Nice bus's from what I see there.  And ask what they have coming up.   I take the Cobra nice bus often.  But know what town I am going to and get of there.  Often I end up standing at the bus stop waiting for the farm bus to take me home of a late afternoon just out bumming around small towns. Never had a problem doing such.  Except the Cobra has a cargo space under it.  And they ask you to pay for 2 seats on the farm bus if you put your tanks and such in the seat. Rather than on top of the bus here. They only have a small overhead rack on them. So travel by bus is not hard to do.  And when they make a terminal stop there are always people selling things beside the Cobra bus. So you can buy a snack traveling.  Just ask a taxi driver to take you to the Cobra bus station near you. Be surprised at the number of small towns that have very good beach's and swimming and such.  Many better than the name brand beach's.

Same area I am in here.  I agree with you.

Thanks Johnx and James Mitchel for the tour area recommendation ,we will definitely try and get out to that area in the near future.
