Can an expat already purchase an house in Belgium?

goodday!

Can we legally buy a house even if we're just under the work permit B/residence visa? Planning to move in but was worried that If we purchase a house it will only be entitled to my partner. Which is not really smart since I'll be sharing the monthly payment.

It is legal to buy a house here when you are on work permit B and yearly residence permit.

You have to be sure that when you visit your notrias that he knows that the house is owned by both of you but basically it is fine.

Hello There

I m interested to move to Ghent to have my own business such as coffee shop or small restaurant.

You think it is a smart idea or not since I am not familiar with business in Ghent.

Thanks

I dont know a lot about it but look into taxes as they are a lot of up front taxes however ppl in gent love restaurants cafes and food everywere is often full so I think u un will have plenty of business

No problem if you can pay it cash. Both parties (buyer and seller of the house) have to pass the act before a notary (notaris or notaire in Belgium).

Hey
One of you both need to have a fixed job from 3 years at least and your salary both is quart of what you will pay per month, and you need to pay the down payment and house registration from your savings.

Hi
R u Persian?

Thank you so much

Hello Rose
You can buy a house in Belgium. There are no restrictions and the conditions are the same for residents and expats.
So you see Belgium is a very open minded economy.

You can ask a notary about information and formalities
http://www.notaire.be/acheter-louer-emprunter/
Some of them speak English - you can find them on the website by language and location (Annuaire)

Yes, why not. People are always looking for new things. Ghent is a cosmopolitan city. Famous university and a lot of tourists. Close to Brugge and to the seaside. They speak Dutch there...
