Singapore is a rich country, so can afford to make rules and get fussy.
That's going to make your chances slimmer, until you get experience.
I've just been watching a program about inexperienced staff cutting their teeth on tiny Indonesian airlines, Susi air was featured, and that sort of thing may be a good first job option.
