It's ample, and certainly higher than the national average.. Zug is also one of the cheapest cantons for tax, plus if you want more night life, Zurich and Lucerne are not too far.
Swiss taxes vary from canton to canton, and even different gemeinde within the canton. In Zurich I could save 500 a month by moving to a cheaper place, but then you've got the additional travel time and cost to factor in.
But zug is a nice little town. I liked it
