It depends what you like.
There's everything from little street food sellers, through McD and KFC, right up to the posh restaurants in malls and so on.
As for shopping - I do most of mine in Alfamart and Giant.
I dislike the big malls aimed at the rich (and silly expats) because they're always massively overpriced.
Looking for a push chair a few days ago - Mothercare's prices were well into the silly millions, but we got a top quality unused second hand one for Rp600,000.
By unused, the plastic wrapping was still on most of it.
Good old internet advertising and tokobagus.
