I'm looking for some advice. My wife has left the family home,we both own the house 50-50 is there any period of time that she would not be able to just move back in..The house is in Italy (sardinia) we are English

You should really be contacting a local lawyer experienced in family law to get legal advice. I certainly would not act based solely on the advice from a forum, the risks are too many and too great.
One thing for certain, if the home is registered in both your names, then legally she would have exactly the same rights as you have.
