How does one do laundry in Siem Reap? Are there Laundromats? Can I assume that long term rental properties do not have laundry facilities?

Generally no, but you may be lucky with your accommodation. I have never seen a laundromat here, but there are places on almost every street offering laundry service for $1/kg. Most of these wash by hand, but one can also find places offering machine wash (often more expensive). Personally I always go to hand wash places - it's ready the same day, neatly folded and packaged and perfectly clean.
