Expat women giving birth in kuwait/ husband not working

Hi everyone,

I have a simple question for you.

My wife is working as a teacher in Kuwait. I also used to work, but now I am unempolyed and my residency is finished.
I am able to enter the country whenever I please, because I have a British passport.

Can my wife give birth in Kuwait although I have no residency?
What happens after if she can?
How does the baby get to have a residency although the father doesn't?

I heard gossip, and I am very worried that my child will not qualify as a citizen in Kuwait due to this problem.

Does anyone have any solid answers?

Much appreciated

your case is very complex;

firstly for your wife to give birth in Kuwait you must have your attested and translated marriage licence. i am guessing you already have that.

now, the law of the land is that the child is put on their fathers visa; now seeing as how u do not have a residency, but u do have a visa valid for 3 months, i think the asnwer would be yes your wife can give birth in Kuwait.

however, i strongly suggest you inquire about this at any maternity hospital as they would be better equipped to answer that question for u.

How can I do the attested?

The problem is that I don't know where to start.

which steps should I follow? My wife is from Turkey but I am from England and we want the baby to have a British nationality here.

Thanx

go to where your wife will be deliver your baby.

ask the reception there.

Here is a group I read about in this blog. Hope they can help.
