Bahir Dar is really serene and peaceful, quite unlike Addis. Plus, from what I understand, there are really good accommodations available for pretty reasonable prices. Did you have any specific questions about travelling there?

Bahir Dar is lovely to visit, and if money is not an issues, you should at least have lunch or dinner at Kuroftu. As far as place to stay you may need to search online for hotels that meets your need and budget.
