Anyone own a Kawasaki motorcycle, with a real oil pressure sender?

I'm trying to locate a OIL PRESSURE SENSOR / SENDER  that is fitted to some Kawasaki motorcycle models.

If your machine has an oil sensor, I would appreciate knowing your motorcycle model name/number so I can buy a sensor.

Thanks.

Kawazaki was my first motorbike in India. That's a collaboration of Indian company Bajaj and the Kawazaki, Japan. It's sleek and attractive design made youths crazy that time even though it cannot win Escort Yamaha and Hero Honda.

Hi. Which one you need?

THANK YOU!

Now I have a list of Kawasaki model numbers that have oil pressure sensors - and I will now work on Kawasaki VietNam.

(A friend's bike has an idiot light - which switches on after 1000 kilometres until reset - as a reminder to check the oil. He usually drives a car and expects a light with an oil can symbol to be more than a timer)

You're welcome. Seems I have heard about this problem before. Maybe the oil isnt suitable to it?

No, the manufacturer simply fitted a pulse counter circuit to the speedo cable and when it hits 1000 kilometres it turns the light on. Has absolutely no ability to read or measure oil pressure.

From your price list, the simplest sensor (make or break a switch) costs only RMB15 - USD$2.44!

I never top my oil up - I just change it twice a month.

Actually there are many motorbikes having the same problem. Are you a motorbike repairer Jaitch or that's just an interest?

No, I just like having a vehicle that suits my needs.

And I help friends with theirs. Why they don't fit the sensors as standard I don't know. $2.50 is peanuts. Then I see they are using flexi coupling from the front wheel to electronic speedo on his bike when a Hall effect device and a piece of wire works just as well.

My latest project on my personal set of wheels is fitting a carrier platform for goods on my rear seat wing 'wings' that fold out to help carry the load.

Handy when you know how to do Argon welding for stainless!

I see you love this work from your words.

Is that a Chinese bike? Many Chinese bikes have been changed when they are imported to Vietnam. They don't import whole original bike but parts only and assemble them in Vietnam.

Have you checked some videos in youtube?

My friends machine is a VN assembled device (many parts imported from Honda).

Since motorcycles have a limited range of customization opportunities compared to an automobile, my machine is in a continual state of evolving. Plus I have to spend a fair amount of time driving it each month.

Since theft is a high risk in HCM, and Da Nang/Hue, I make it look a little 'hang dog' but under the covers there are quite a few goodies. I also use it as a test bed for electronic accessories one of my companies sells especially on Friday and Saturday 'hog' overnight gatherings in HCM. Before I put it on the road, I had an engine shop clean up the performance.

P.S. I managed to locate a Kawasaki oil sensor this afternoon.

You didn't know?

The local VN 'Hells Angels' get their leathers out and jump on their sub 200cc machines and drive up and down. Elsewhere others are racing their bikes on the highways.

They all meet up in Quan 4, down by the sewage river that separates Quan 4 from Quan 7. At around 03.00-04.00H they then drive back in an endless stream to Quan 1. Very early Saturday and Sunday mornings.

I've made a fortune from selling electronic 'bling' to these guys - anything with LEDs that light sequentially or modulate headlights or horns.

These characters even killed a CGST guy a couple of years ago. Not always nice.

I didn't know that. I thought they only race in my area. Maybe I would move to dist 4 next time to see the racing. 3-4am of every weekend? It must be very noisy.

I have a friend who is also interested in LEDs, horn or headlight but unluckily there are many many small shops selling the same motorbike products  so he has to book from china.

Would you like to show me your website? Do you update all products there?

hog = Harley Owners Group.  Typically overweight, middle-aged men with more money (and leather) than brains, at least based on their choice of motorcycle.  For example:
