How to get a Thai driver's license? (I already have a US one)

Hi Everyone,

My biggest issue now is the driver's license. I have a US license, but I am not sure if I can use it to get a Thai one. Do you know about that? Do I have to take a test? Where do I even go?

This recent post deals with Thai licences.
BTW depends how long you are here regarding whether you NEED a Thai licence or not. Your US licence or an IDP should be fine if on a holiay or up to 3 months in Thailand. Just check your insurance small print if hiring a vehicle regarding licences.
