Public elementary schools

I am moving to Suzhou in August.  I would like to find a good public school for my 8 year old son.  The international schools are so expensive.  Is this possible?  Is there a time limit that one needs to be in country to receive this privilege?  Good schools in Suzhou??  Please advise...thanks

Re: Public elementary schools

Hi Tyoung,

What nationality do you have? Do you really intend to send yr child to a local chinese school? You should visit one first before you make that decision.
If you consider the international schools too expensive how about homeschooling? I've done it with 4 kids three yrs long.
