Dependent visa and bank account

Dear All,

Greetings from India

I will be travelling to Linz on Sep 2014 on student's visa(Masters programme-JKU)

For the visa process, they have mentioned to show sufficient balance in my account

As Austrian bank branches are not avalibale in India,Is it ok If i show the fund in my Indian Bank account

Also,my wife will be accompanying me as a dependent

We both will be applying for the visa together,but she will be traveling in the year 2015

Once the visa is issued,,is there any time period within which my wife should travel?

if She is not traveling with me,whether she has to take the medical and health insurance now

I see no reason why your Indian Bank Account will not be accepted, but as soon as you arrive you can open an Austrian Bank Account and transfer money in to it.

As for your other questions, the place where they issue your visa should give you more details. Have you tried asking the Astrian Embassy in India?
