Working as an independant in Hong Kong

Hello,
I'm french and I will be moving soon with my family in Hong Kong.
As my wife as been posted there, I have a 'Dependant Visa', meaning I will be allowed to work in HK
But I don't really know what the limits are.
Does anyone can tell me if I will be authorize to work as an independant with a kind of freelance status in the service sector, and if yes, is it a lot of complicated paperwork to get the legal ability?
Thanks to all for your replies.
Didier

Hi Didier, I've sent you a PM

Hi!
I have exactly the same question and situation than yours.
I'm hoping to be allowed to get a "independant status" to continue to work as a freelance journalist/editor when I am in HK. I will have a dependant visa thanks to my husband who has got a job there.
Do you know more about that situation now? Are you settled in HK now?
Thank you in advance for your help!
:)

Hi
With a dependent visa you have no issue to setup a business or to work as a "self-employed person".

Hi coach, I've sent you a PM

Hi! Thank you very much for your answer  :top:
I am wandering if I will have to proove something when asking for a self-employed person registration?
