We have our resident visas (yea!!) and are in our condo in Cuenca (another yea!!!) and now need to register our visas. The info on the web is confusing.

Do we have to make a deposit at the bank and take the receipt to the ministry or do they now accept payment directly?

Do you register at the immigration office near Vergel or somewhere else?

Wonderful to hear that the visa adventure has gone so well for you, congratulations on your success!

I wonder if you would share with us your experiences with the Ecuador bureaucracy since you have been there? Any good advice for the rest of us waiting in the wings? Did you use an attorney to assist you in Ecuador or has it been a DIY project?

I know that our moderator will tell me to start a new thread but I need to know if there is a thread already going and if not, how do I start one. My question is, does it make it easier to get a visa if you marry an Ecuador lady? My apologies in advance. Bryan
