There is a lot of paperwork involved in getting a divorce. Best thing for you would be to contact the nearest Philippines Embassy for information. Also check on the Philippines section of this forum for posts on the subject. It will not be easy. Good luck.

thank you so much for your response... however, i don't think the Philippine Embassy would help me on this matter as my country is against it.... you said there's a lot of paperwork involved, meaning it is possible... it's just that it would be difficult cos of these paperworks?

The law that governs your divorce is not necessarily the law of the country where you can file for divorce. To see which laws apply in your case, how a conflict of laws could be solved and what the consequences would be, we would advise you to consult a specialised lawyer.

A divorce or a legal separation granted in one EU country is usually recognised by other EU countries without any special procedure being required. But Denmark is an exception, as EU rules on divorce and legal separation do not apply.

You might find some useful information here: europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/family/couple/divorce-separation/index_en.htm]europa.eu/youreurope/citizens/family/couple/divorce-separation/index_en.htm

thank you so much for the reply... we will look into that.... thanks again... :)

If you and your (ex)husband are both Filipinos then it's impossible to obtain a divorce anywhere. Divorce is not recognised in the Philippines, unless one of the spouse is a non-Filipino, in which case the foreign spouse can obtain divorce from his/her country. The best thing you can do is file for a petition of annulment or declaration of nullify of your marriage (in the Philippines) before you will have the capacity to contract another marriage.

I hope this helps. Enjoy your stay in DK!
