Only you can say whether PNG is the right place for you. You need to consider the following.
Salary offered is before tax or after tax.
Does employer pay flights home each year
Is safe secure accommodation provided and who pays for it 
Does employer cover food costs, utilities etc.
Transport provided

Safety for expats is the most important so you need to be aware that it is not a safe place. You do not go out a night by yourself, you need to be careful when getting money out from ATM, and you need to be aware of safety at all times when out.
