Blue Book / Police Card - New Regulation

Hi everybody,

Have commented on some of the threads in here yesterday but most of them are from last year thus I may better start a new one for some updates.

Fact is that there are some changes in the requirements in regards of the documentations one must hold when applying / renewal the KITAS or KITAP.

The police card (SKLD) and the blue book is not needed any longer.

As far as I know, the new rule about the police card is in place as from 1. January 2014, regarding the blue book just recently in March or April 2014.

At least above counts for Jakarta area, don't know yet for sure if it is valid also for all other parts of Indonesia, your local Immigration office should tell.

I still have an SKLD (police registration card) but I believe you are correct, there is no further need of it.
I also understand we should now get a KTP (Local ID card) to replace the SKLD.

Yes correct.....but you get the KTP only if you are holding a KITAP.

I have KITAP, seriously considering WNI.
That needs a lot of thought as there are several issues to consider:
UK pensions
Possible rise of more extreme forces in Indonesian politics
Likely fall in the Indonesian economy over the short term. probably within a couple of years
Status of the kid(s)
ASEAN and its effects
