You can buy vanilla beans from Annam Gourmet shop (in D1 and Phu My Hung, D7) and make vanilla essence by yourself too. I find it much cheaper that way. You will have to pay around VND 100K for 29ml of vanilla essence from McCormick but it only cost you VND 300K and 4-6 months of waiting, you will have about 500ml of home made vanilla essence and the fun of the making process.
