Go ahead with the formalities and also is there salary criteria.

Hi,

I am looking for information. I am an indian working in Malaysia. My husband is on my dependancy visa. He has managed to get a job but the employer has asked him to perform all visa formalities.

I have heard that there is a facility where we can endorse and apply for permission to work. The dependancy visa will still be valid. The employer is not a MSC registered company, its a small firm.

Can someone guide me of how do i go ahead with the formalities and also is there any salary criteria requirement.

Thanks
Rupa

The prospective employer has to have a certain level of paid up capital in the firm to be allowed to employ foreigners. The first step is for the company to apply to immigration to have the post they are offering cleared for a hiring outside Malaysia (foreigner). When they have permission, then your hubby can go to immigration with his offer letter and request permission to work. The salary has to be RM5k per month or more.  Take a look at http://www.imi.gov.my/index.php/en/main … for-a-post for details about what the company has to do to get the post approved, etc. It's called Stage I.

Beware of a wild goose chase to save face or not being able to say "no".
