Passport Control

Hi everyone,

I am going back home to the UK next week as part of my job to visit a customer. My question is.....

Now that I have a residence visa what is the procedure for passport control at the airport in Turkey? I have no tourist visa for them to stamp, do they stamp my 'Kimlik' ID book?

Secondly I know Turkish citizens have to pay a tax at the airport before they go aboard. Do I have to do this because of my kimlik? TC Number 99.......

Many thanks...

David

Hi David

You do not have to pay the tax that I am sure as you are not a Turkish citizen.
In terms of stamping, I am not sure where the police put its stamp but I assume you do not need an entry visa to Turkey as you have a residence permit in Turkey.

I hope that it helps

All the best

Just give your ikamet and passport to the guy in the window, that's all you need to get in and out. One time I forgot my ikamet in Ankara and they still let me leave Istanbul and come back to Turkey without paying anything.

Many thanks to both of you  :D
