International meeting

Hello everyone,

i've moved to istanbul recently after i spent my last few years in london, dubai etc.. and to be honest social life is a bit poor here ( talking about us expats ) for example in dubai every weekend there's an expats party or a gathering somewhere.. so i thought why not do the same here guys.. please if u got an idea type it in

Cheers!

I Really Appreciate this Idea , since i have the same experience from Dubai. ( INTERNATIONAL MEETING ) IT SOUNDS G8....THANKS THOUGH.

yea but many ppl here became cold and not interested.

nice idea, but not many active ppl here...
or lets say "Shy" silence type.. reminds me of LinkedIn  :offtopic:

A Turkish expression for you guys to learn...

''Eşek gibi çalışıyorum!'' (I am working like a donkey!)

All work and no play I am afraid.....welcome to Istanbul! :D:)

who's not Eşek gibi çalışıyorum! lol

Now Bashar I am not looking to cause trouble my friend but you're top of of the 'Top members of the week'....are you really eşek gibi calışıyorsun lol :D I am only joking.

I think the main problem for most people is logistical, you're either stuck in traffic for 6 hours trying to get to Taksim at the weekend or stuck...or stuffed might be a better word, on the metrobus.

What did you guys have in mind?

We used to have a monthly meeting but since dave left from istanbul nobody is trying to do the gathering again so lets try to arrange one celebrating the spring :)

Sounds a good idea, well there is a social group called meet up where people including expat gather and share their experience . I am also a part of it, Infact I am organizing a get together for those people who love hollywood movies this Friday , we will meet, talk about our experiences , go for a new movie and then will have dinner. Further, we have a Indian group here , we gather every weekend to play cricket booking a football ground, it's a rivalry matches Europe versus Asia . Further, there are couchsurfing get together that happen every Wednesday where people specially expats are coming...so there are opportunities I guess, just explore them, let me know if anyone is interested to join any of above

looks like here are only guys lol :)

any ladies over here? )  I am not in Istanbul but I am coming after 3 weeks for 4 nights there. Would'nt mind have a shisha and turkish coffee and a chat together! Me and 1-2 my friends are coming.

btw how to add a friends here? I see you guys but I can't find "add as a friend' button

welcome to Istanbul , u will have much better sheesha here than Dubai :)
u can add friends by clicking on "add to contacts" which will appear afte u open the profile of the person u wanna add by clicking on his name ,, hope its clear

thanks for your kind help. Tesekkur edderim :)
