Hi,
My name is Kevin. Have moved here from Malaysia to Phnom Penh 8 months ago. I have opened two burger shops
in cambodia now. The establishments are called GGBurger. Please do feel free to visit.
i have been passionate about food since i was young and i fell in love with this place since my first visit three years ago. I decided to make the move here last year to open up a burger place with a mission to serve good burgers in cambodia. One of my shops is located in front of sovanna shopping mall right next to TLJ bakery.

Sound good Kevin, I love burger! I'm moving to PP on September 5 and I will definitly come try them out ;)

Hi im tim from australia. Im looking for a change thats all . I spent a month in pp an sihanoukville. Loved it all. Not into bars and hospitality sevices. Just looking for something to do with my time there. I was thinking down the lines of learn to swim shcool. Or water craft hire on the beach not motorised...Not out to try and get ritch rather just give a little.iv spent my life in an on the ocean. And i have managed olympic swim centres. I hve owed boats and jetski I have been surfing all my life and wakeboardng over 10 years. I was thinking of doing some refresher courses here in first aid and water safety just to be on my game. Wud not take much to find a generouse resort or pool somewhere to do some learn to swim lessons. Seems even the asians that live near the water can not swim. There is a process to get them swimming and enjoying the ocean and swimming pools with confidence.

Hi Jim Dandy, I spent 2 years teaching Synchronisd swimming in Singapore, now living in PP. I am originally from UK and have also thought about teaching swimming, not many pools around it seems and don't fancy swimming in the Mekong!

Hi mate . Well, I was thinking of approuching the resort pools . Cud lane a section off and teach kids and adults. I swam in a few pool in pp real gud pool in big resort on eastside of riverside down south end  where i stayed at hotel 9 ...very quiet also. Not out to make money. Few bucks from the ritch parents maybe . For the poor wud do it for kicks. Few kick  boards is all u need. And maybe few kmear words like breath, kick , etc lol . Cheers mate

There is fruitpicking work all over australia and all seasonds. Dont know hownu can access the farmers direct. As it more a go to the town and door nock the farms for work. Its getting harder tho as theynemploy bus loads of islanders these days. Like from figi tonga papu . So im told my friend returns to the same citrus farm now for many years each year to pick manderines . Everythingnisngrown in australia in different parts ot the country due to the contrasting climate here.. thing u most need is visa my friend. And once u work I think it is 80 days here u can exstend visa. Good luck mate...jim dandy ...

To pick fruit or do farm work  in Oz you just need to get a working holiday visa.

Hi I'm Paolo Italian, living in PP from a week, really at the moment no working just looking around to understand this country and the chance it's offer. Looking for friend and more,
I live near law university

Hi, All!

My name is Anna and I am from Manila, Philippines. I would love to experience/work in Phnom Penh. I am so glad I stumbled upon this site. Nice to meet you all :)

Hi my name is Anthony-from Montreal  Canada .I've been living in Siem Reap for nearly 5 years now . I had a business in Vietnam ( Nha Trang ) so I 've been going back and forth for the past 4 years . Now I am looking to open a business here in SR but I need a partner , I have the right people to get my permits , considering my wife is Khmer . I don't want to open a restaurant , bar , coffee shop, or guesthouse like everyone else . I've been here long enough to see many expats invest and lose lots of money. The rent downtown is high , the electricity is expensive and you need a generator if you don't want your food to go to waste . When low season comes you need back up money to pay your bills . So the money you made in the high season you will need it for the low season . What I want to open is totally different . I won't give away my idea on this Blog but if interested contact me at hecter888@hotmail. com.

Just joined the site.

Thats a bargain I swimm often and when I was there I found swimming pools in resorts just to visit very expensive $usd 10. Although i found  swimming at plantaion resort for free  well nobody ask me to pay that is but was not a exercise pool as in had no lane ropes. And was crowded but I manged to swim around 1kilometre. Pool in resort at end of street of hotel number nine across the the road on river
side was $10 entry to visitors . I was thinking of doing swim lesson classes there for the khmer. Any thoughts on that. Not out to take there money just do as a time filler on good will

Hi my is Gary Mcevilla. I am currently in Florda, U.S.A. I turn 62 in [December and when I get my first social check want to move to Cambodia. I am a Vietnam veteran so know what the tropics is like. I have been to Thailand and the phillippines in that area and other ;countries. I ;cannot afford to live in U.S. on my social security check and anyway am very bored here. I hope to find a love of my life, to help her family in any way I can. I do not want to live around  a thousand or so other expats. I am thinking of moving to Battambang because of this.  I like to bicycle, -exercise so will want to join a gym. Will probably like to find a ;cheap hotel for long term or small studio to live. I do look forward to meeting other expats but also want to immerse myself in the local ;culture. I wanted to post a photo of myself that I have on my facebook but do not know how to [do so. I also want to do some volunteer work, teach some wrestling and martial arts, buy some school children sandals to wear. I am far from rich and will only have about $1000.00 a month. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I still have about 6 months before my arrival. Thank you so very much

That's a good idea about swimming lessons. I think I might do the same. I was a combat water survivor instructor for the Marine Corps and a lifeguard. I am moving to I think battambang in 6 months. Yes I see that gym memberships are more expensive than here in the U.S. and that seems high to take a single swim.

I i have moved to cambodia for the some reason cheap life battambang is very nice I have been there some days last week if you need a room some days when u arive in pp before going there u can sleep at my house I'm gay don't worry

I'm new here, but happy to be a part of this forum. I love Cambodia and its people.

Hey Kevin,
Can you give me the address of where your burger places are located?  Also your burger shops might benefit from what my company offers.  If you have anytime next week, maybe we can discuss it.

Hey Everyone!

I'm an American teacher who is coming to work in Siem Reap in August. I accepted a year long contract to support an NGO that manages a few local schools. My task is to improve their IT programs and implement current curriculum as needed.

I'm coming from Cartagena, Colombia whereI have been teaching and building an orphanage there for the last 4.5 years. While my plan is to return to our orphanage and build a school in 2015, I couldn't be more excited to spend a year in Cambodia! I look forward to getting to know this expat community when I arrive.

While i'm going to post something else soon, if anyone knows of a roommate situation let me know. I'm coming into SR around Aug 7 and will look at apartments then. However, I would love to share a house or larger apartment with someone if that works out.

Take care and maybe we'll see you soon.

Eric

Hi All
I have spent the past 4 years visiting Cambodia and fell in love with Phnom Penh.
We have been fortunate enough to Meet Ross Wright from Choice and get involved where we can.

We have also met a real motley crew of expats which I am fortunate enough to now call friends and Khmer people who have become like family.
I am just a few months off graduating diploma in project management & have 18 years of business banking experience.

I am currently working for American express as a foreign exchange specialist but would love to stay in Phnom Penh for at least 12 months If can find a position.

why did they stop your social security. I want to move there next year and have my social security deposited into an online bank in u.s. I will be 62 this year and so my early retirement will not stop. How do you like it. I am tired of U.S. and can't wait to live in Cambodia. have Cambodian girlfriend and not live around a bunch of expats and tourists.

In response. .
I was not receiving social security for it to stop & have no right to claim any benefits.
I an seeking work in Phnom Penh so I can support myself financially as well as volunteer for Choice.
