New members of the Nauru forum, introduce yourself here

Hi all,

Newbie on the Nauru forum? Don't know how to start?

This thread is for you ;)

We invite you to introduce yourself on this topic, to share with us your expat story if you are already living in the country, or to tell us more on your expat projects in Nauru if you are planning to move there.

It will enable us to help you better but above all to wish you a warm welcome.

Welcome on board!

Hi, All.

Thank you so much for introducing me to this forum. I am interested to move to Nauru simply because firstly, I want to share my skills, talents and knowledge with the health ministry and the people of Nauru. Secondly, as a nurse educator here at the nursing school, we have few student nurses from Nauru currently doing their bachelors programme (in service) for a year with us. I am one of those lecturers involve in teaching them. The tie between the school of nursing (Solomon Islands) and possibly the health ministry of Nauru is creating mutual, respect and strong foundation for the two countries to share resources in particular human resources in the different areas of specialisation needed for each of the countries through education. With those thoughts, I offer myself to explore further areas of work especially in the field of Nursing in Nauru. My specialisation is within the areas of mental health both clinically and as a mental health nurse educator.
Thanks,

Luke Ihodi.

Hi
I'm Namona.Etuati from Kiribati.

I'm trying to find a place in the teaching professional especially at elementary level in other countries.
I really like to meet new people all the time and that why for a change I want to find work especially teaching at primary level in your beautiful country.
I'm in my early forties with one teenage son and of course an handsome husband.
I have been teaching for fourteen years in elementary schools doing all subjects. My last place is teaching in the only international primary school in my country working with expatriate children coming to work in my country . I also have been working for two years as an ESL trainer for primary teachers and Junior secondary teachers in my country in a project funded by AUS-AID through COFFEY.
I like learning on the job and like to challenge the inevitable especially when it something to do with the learning process either in the process itself or within the learners.
I enjoy working with children mostly because I like the feeling that I am one of the people who can make that small person a big one and  a worthy citizen in future.
Everybody is a teacher because education happens everywhere not just in a classroom.

Hi,

I'm Mrs Namona.Etuati.Uering and I'm in my early forties. I have a teenage son and a husband.
I have been a primary teacher for 14 years and have helped trained Primary and Junior Secondary  teachers in ESL through Au's-aid project for more than two years in my country. Like everyone else I also learn new things, concept, ideas on the job at the same time.
I like facing challenges in the learning process, now more confident to face those challenges  with the skills ,knowledge and experience I have acquired.
I hope if I am given the chance, I will make good use of these talents  to help nurture young minds of the country to be the hope of your country in future.
I personally think of children as equal so wherever I work I regard children as the same no matter what race, colour, religion, status they are but to me they all need education which I think will be carried out inclusively..

Thanks Julien, this is a really useful forum given that not much is known about Nauru. I'm not an expat but I'm a local who can occasionally offer guidance and tips to those considering moving here for work or just visiting friends/relatives. I'm on this website (Expat.com) primarily under the classifieds section (which was pretty blank) to put up an ad for Video Game trading in Nauru but I'd be happy to help out with any questions anyone has on Nauru. I can be reached at [email protected]

Cheers,

Noodles
