losolitru.blogspot.comwe are new in the forum. We are a family of three, living in Colombia. Our short-term goal is moving to Oz. Right now we are improving our english level and the plan is to place the application by the end of this year. We have a three years old girl and she is our main reason to leave this country. Among a lot of personal believings that are also the ingredients of this migration adventure. We run a blog about this project so if you want to visit it, you are so welcome, it is written in spanish but in the next days we are going to start writing it in english in order to practice the language, also, if you find some gramatical mistake, please feel free to point it to us, we will be grateful with the corrections.

Welcome to EB.

To be brutally honest you will not get a visa to work in Australia as beautician work can be done by locals
For visa information and applications www.immi.gov.au

Hi, my family and I are originally from Zimbabwe, moved to South Africa for a few years and have now settled in Brisbane.
We love it here in Brisbane but we're finding it difficult to make friends. My husband and I are in our early 40's and my son and his girlfriend who is also from South Africa are in their early 20's.
We would love to meet up with other Zimbabwean or South African families in Brisbane.

Welcome to EB
First step is to find out whether you qualify for a visa. For visa information and applications www.immi.gov.au

Just be aware that unemployment is rising, the new govt is increasing taxes and they are tightening up the immigration policy. Companies will employ locals first and unless you have a skill that no one here in Australia has then it will be very difficult for you to come here.

Australia is an expensive country to live, having the 4th most expensive economy in the world.

Thanks Stumpy,

Yes, I read a lot about it. I am trying to settle down in New zealand or in Australia. As per my analysis Peoplesoft has got lot of market. Need expertise views on this guys..

Welcome to EB.

I suppose you have checked out www.immi.gov.au for visa information etc.  I suggest you read other posts regarding coming to Australia.
It is an expensive place to live. Oz now has the 4th highest cost economy in the world. Jobs are getting harder to get for locals so expats will find it more so. Unemployment is rising.
For cost of living www.numbeo.com.

Don't let me put you off, but this is the reality so be aware of this when you decide to come over our way.

Hi Stumpy:  Yes, been on the Immigration website and all...Thanks.  My feeling is If the Universe wants me over in Sydney it will happen (You know Law of Attraction).  I had a lot of interest in my skill set when I was over there....so will just see.  I did not think to pursue further.  I would love to study also so maybe I can just go over and study or?  Thanks!

Hi Regina,
Love to meet you if you come to Sydney, you can contact me mobile 0418276120 or email me [email protected]

Hi everyone!

My name is Diana. I'm a 28 year old mexican English teacher with a Bachelor's Degree in Teaching Foreign Languages and a Master's Degree in Education. I want to go to Australia to study and take it from there. I would love to expatriate myself to this country, though I want to experience living for a few months over there to see if I actually like it. I have applied for some Masters Degrees at different universities in Queensland and got accepted into all them. Sadly, I missed the deadline to apply for a complete scholarship, so now I´m looking for some VET courses which I can afford to pay.

I would love to go to the Sunshine Coast, though there is an agent who is trying to convince me to go for Brisbane instead. She says it's less expensive and has more casual job opportunities for International studies. I don´t know how true this is and would like some comments regarding this situation.

Blessings!!

If you do not intend to work or chase up real estate you can come on a tourist visa.  Sounds to me like you will be working so you will need a business visa. To get the letter I suggest you contact real estate agents here with an outline of what you are looking for and perhaps you may get the letter.
