Iqama Transfer

As the new employer agreed for the transfer of iqama rather than a final exit and re-entry process, because the company doesn't have a VISA equivalent to that of Assistant Professor to bring me. Alternatively if I have to go back to India on a final exit from the present employer and come back on a low class VISA (eg labour VISA) will it be a problem to come back to Saudi, I mean will there be any objection from the consulate?

Do not you ever exit final, and return on a labour visa ever, you lose all privileges on this type of visa, do your best with the university to transfer you to your new employer.
