We are staying for three weeks in Hurghada leaving on the 25th January for Sharm. I haven't booked the flight yet because we are concerned about the political situation.
Sharm is in the Sinai and from the UK government map it looks very close to problems within Egypt and places to stay away from.
My husband and I had thought about staying Hurghada as we feel safe where we are but I have been unable to reach our travel agent in the UK via Skype, don't understand why this is.
What do members think about the resort I would appreciate your comments.
Is it safe in Sharm el sheikh

i believe its safe as well as Hurghada , and avoid be near any groups or protests and iam sure its calm in Sharm and security everywhere , the same as in Hurghada, just go and enjoy your holiday

sharm in sinai yes but sinai 2 parts north which has all the problems and south which is safe sharm in south sinai which is safe.

We traveled on the 25th January from Hurghada and didn't have any problems.
Been in Sharm for just over a week now and it's fine. We haven't traveled just stayed in the same area snorkeling from the different beaches and having a great time, glad we made the trip.
