Tropical fruit like pineapple, lychees, bananas and mangoes are grown on the island. Other fruit like citrus or stone fruit are not suitable for the climate so are imported.
Some vegetables are grown locally e.g. lettuce, bell peppers, tomatoes etc. Others are grown locally but are also available as imports e.g. carrots, onion, garlic.
