Can you guys help me with what documents I need to get done in the process of buying a car.
I still don't have a work permit . it's in the works . therefore no pin , and I can't go register the car under my name yet .
Has anyone bought cars and registered then much later ?

You can only transact later after you get your work permit ,alien pin and kra pin number needed for you
to transfer ownership at the moment just use a sale agreement

Yes U can buy a car and registrar it later,but B4 buying pick the registration of vehicle and go to times tower and verify ownership by checking the details against the ones on the log bk.If it's in order go ahead but have a sale agreement written down and signed.
