Here is a place where you can meet Syrian people : Centre culturel arabe (http://www.culture-arabe.irisnet.be/) through their cultural activities like classes (arabic, music,...) and concerts of classical arabic music. Teachers of arabic language where Syrians by the time I attended the courses there and the organisers certainly know a lot of Syrian people.
