Is this real we can have tax rebate with our train tickets????

Dear all,

Recently, I have heard sb say that we can have our tax rebate with our train tickets in Germany. I have searched on the internet but I can't find any further details.
Is that real? And if yes, how???

Millions Thanks  and have a good day :)

In your yearly tax declaration, you can offset from your taxable income all expenses that are necessary to make that income.
Thus if you have to travel on business (and the costs are not reimbursed by your employer), you can offset the train tickets for those trips.
The daily trips from your home to work and back are already offset automatically (with €0.30/km), so tickets for that cannot be claimed separately.
For more information, ask a tax consultant, as things are quite complicated (and as a non-native speaker you won't be able to correctly prepare a tax declaration anyway).

oic, thank you very much ;)
