Hi Everyone!

I'm from California and currently reside in Belo Horizonte. I'm looking for other local foreigners that speak English to connect with. I'm a volunteer and enjoy sharing information and talking to others about world events, the meaning of them and how to benefit from positive changes that will take place in the future. Looking forward to connecting with you!

Hi Iulia R,

Hello Iulia,

On behalf of the entire Expat-blog Team, welcome on board. I hope that your experience here will be both enjoyable and informative. I'm sure you'll make lot of new friends too.

I know from having lived in Belo Horizonte for a number of years that you're really going to enjoy it. If you haven't already heard about it there is a wonderful artesan fair on Av. Alfonso Pena every Sunday morning, it's a must see. The Mercado Central is a super-fun place to shop or even just visit. Take a quiet stroll through the Parque Municipal off Alfonso Pena too, it's a nice way to relax, or visit Parque Mangabeiras and go hiking. Of course there's the zoo in Pampulha, the whole area around the Lagoa de Pampulha is quite interesting and even a nice place to picnic too.
