Time to travel

Hy.Im wondering, how long does the process of getting to Australia take.I mean ,if and when you get the job and lets say a company is 100 percent sure that they will employ you. What are the steps to get there as fast as possible.I know one person was arrangin those things from Slovenia and it took about 2 years before he was allowed to get on the plane and start working there. Its normal that you need to have some cash to pay for visa and all but is there realy only this long way or is there any option to get there , lets say in a year.
Thank you for any feedback...

There is no quick way to get into Australia to live and work. There is a long involved process you have to go through.

You must have specialist skills. There is a list of these skills on the government website www.immi.gov.au  This site will give you all the information you require.

The visas are issued on a points system so the more qualifications you have the more points you get towards a visa.

Unemployment is on the rise here in Australia so the government is asking companies to employ locals.

Some companies have been abusing the visa system so the government is having a crack down and has changed the 457 visa arrangements as of July 2013.

The process is very expensive for companies as well so they are reluctant to system as they are also responsible for any person bought into the country on a visa.

Thank you

I agree with what the poster above has written.  The ease of the arrival does depend on the industry you are trying to enter.  IT is screaming for qualified persons so some of the new restrictions are being waived for them.
That being said, it can take a while.  It depends what country you coming from also.  England, Canada and South Africa have a much easier time getting in because of Australia's relationship to the Crown.  Check with your countries consulate and see what they say.  Good luck!
