We're preparing our trip to panama to see where we could rent a place. We heard that there will be a subway available in panama city as of January 2014. Does anybody know how far that metro will run, and where the stops might be? Is there a map available?

Not ready in January 2014. I think they are aiming for May, 2014 for the first of three phases. Take taxis around Panama City definitely or use bus system until Metro up and ready.

Yeah, the first line (shown above) will be useful possibly to go to and from Albrook Mall if you're living in El Cangrejo, Obarrio, Balboa Ave or Bella Vista areas, not any help for San Francisco, Punta Pacifica or Punta Paitilla areas that I can see.
