hi i have been living in the usa for 8 years married to a us citizen , i am covered medically through my job but i was wondering if i would have to have surgery would i be able to have it in france and would i have to get an insurance in france or would my us one would cover it too ? thank you for your help

you'd have to ask your insurance but I seriously doubt they'll cover you in France. America doesn't have any sort of reciprocal healthcare agreement like the EHIC. When I lived in the States and traveled, I always got travel insurance but that never covered planned healthcare (like a surgery presumably would be).
