Australia is a huge country. Which state and which city are you looking to settle in ??

Living expenses are high in Australia as are taxes.

Hey..thanks for the info..

Planning to Sydney. yep! I heard that the cost of livin in very high here. Any other cities you can suggest me?

Hi Suman009,

How old are your children? Are they school age? If so, Sydney school fees for non residents are quite expensive. Check out the link below.
http://www.decinternational.nsw.edu.au/ … hools/fees
or for Victoria (Melbourne) see:
http://www.study.vic.gov.au/deecd/live/ … a_home.cfm
I can't see any fees for Victoria.
It comes down to your lifestyle preferences for the city and cash flow.
If your children are young, then Sydney might work well for you. Different areas have different costs of living. You can also reduce your costs through shopping smart.
Renting is tricky. It can be costly and you need to know your rights and how to enforce them. Many real estate agents seem to neglect the new to australia tenants because they can get away with it. They often don't know there rights and how to enforce them. Check out the Department of Fair Trading for this.
Regarding working in Australia on a dependent spouse visa - check out the following site: http://www.immi.gov.au/students/visa-co … family.htm
It seems to list all the student dependent spouse visas and the conditions on whether you can work.
Good luck with it all.

Doesn't matter which city you go to the costs are always high.

Country towns are cheaper but there is little or no work there.
