I would like to confirm if there is atm local fees for taking cash money in India?
I have read that there is none but I'm not sure and I would like to know which banks are free of fees in India?

Well, there will be a small transaction fees if your bank is a non-Indian bank since it will be an international transaction.
For Indian banks, the ATM transactions are free within India if you perform a transaction with your ATM card in the same bank's ATM, upto 5 transactions are allowed on other bank's ATMs in a month. After that, you will be charged a nominal fee.
