IQAMA TRANSFER & PROFESSION CHANGING

Dear HRguru,

My Iqama is going to expire in this July. My profession in iqama is Mason and my sponsor is from Najran.
Now I need to transfer my visa to some other sponsor in Dammam.

I request your kind advise regarding the below matters.

Is it possible to transfer the sponsor before completing two years?
Can I transfer my profession from Mason to AC technician ?
What are the documents required from my present sponsor ?
How much charge will for transfer only as per present situation ?
How much time required for this transfer ?

I will be waiting for your valuable reply.. Thanks .. SJN

SJN,

Its not possible to transfer legally before completion of two yrs unless under the exceptions below:

If new sponsor is in excellent nitaqat
if your current sponsor is in red

You can change your profession from mason to technician provided you support this with necessary certifications that are attested from saudi embassy in your home country.

What are the documents required from my present sponsor ?
- Please clarify if this is for sponsorship transfer or profession change. If transfer you need 3 release letters from sponsor if for profession change within the existing sponsor - fill the form, support with necessary original certificates attested from saudi embassy in home country and pay the fees of SAR.1000 in the bank.

First time transfer charge : SR.2000
Second Time: SR.4000
Third Time: SR.6000
4th time onwards: SR.6000

Time for transfer depends on the agency / mandoob you are using, officially not more than 3 working days if all papers are in order.

Dear HRGuru..
Thanks a lot for your reply ..
I am going for first transfer only and my sponsor is in red category . But for transfer two agents are asking me about SAR 6500/-. So it is better to avoid them and search for some good agents.

Thanks & regards

Yes, you might find people who can do this for less, but you need to find a sponsor who is in green or excellent category in nitaqat to affect the transfer without much charge, If not then you might end up paying in order to transfer to some one faster.

Re: IQAMA TRANSFER & PROFESSION CHANGING

HRGuru / TLL - Here is a scenario:

Sponsor opens a temp office - gets 2 visas, closes  the office and in an years time, the 2 iqamas expire and are due for renewal. The sponsor is not in red coz he is not violating the percentage problem, but at the same time he does not have a company to renew the Iqama under. ofcourse he can renew the license for the compnay and then renew the iqama. But he is not wanting to renew the license and is willing to give transfer. even though the Iqama holder has not completed 2 years under the same sponsor. What happens to the transfer then? Will it cost much to do it legally? or is it at all legal?

Some answers are part of your answer itself.

If he does not want to renew his license, how can he give release?, even though he is willing to do so.

He cannot give transfer letters without renewing the license. If he renews and if the transfer is to happen normally, only the normal charges should apply since as you mentioned he does not have nitaqat issue. At the same time 2 yrs has to be completed b'z of this as well.

Its not all illegal, I mean getting the visa like this , selling and then closing the business is of course illegal , but once he renews his CR, he is legal in the eyes of the Govt and there is nothing illegal there.

You would need to submit a copy of the certificate or original at some point within this process. So be prepared in any case.

You need to attest it sooner or later. A lot of good can come out of it - profession change, ease in transfers, visa issues etc.

The chances are very rare. But then again this is Saudi, unimaginable things have happened before and hence, try your luck. If it works well and good, if not then you will have to get it attested.

Re: IQAMA TRANSFER & PROFESSION CHANGING

Dear Sir,
Thanks for your advise and your blog gave us lot of information. I am belongs to Green Category company visa and In my iqama the profession is mentioned as General Mason but i am working as a site supervisor. I have Intermediate and ITI electronics qualification and 12 years of experience in my field. My certificate is not attested by Saudi embassy, but i came to know that for time being, changing the profession doesn't require the attested certificates.By online sponsor can change the profession, but my HR is asking the attested certificates. I find out from India that right now attestation would be taken at least 3 months time. But we have only 3 months to correct our self. Sir, Is it possible to change profession without attested certificate. I can produce the certificate once I finish my attestation which may take more than 3 months. Kindly suggest..
thanks..

Change of profession is not possible without attested certificates. You need to get this done at the earliest. Best option is to contact any agent in India and pay him extra money to get this done for you in less than 3 months.

Re: IQAMA TRANSFER & PROFESSION CHANGING

Dear HRGuru,

I need your help again. I am in trouble now and need a reliable support from you.

As I said earlier my sponsor is in red category and he is  from Najran & my iqama is valid upto July 2013.Right now my passort and iqama is with me .
Sponsor has given one  release letter to one construction company earlier. But after one month that company cannot transfer my sponsorship .I dont know the correct reason -They are saying delay from labour department.

Then my present sponsor was asking my passport back to him to make me exit.He tear the old release letter also. I requested him and finally agreed one month time for transferring to any other company. Other wise he will file Huroob against me.

Right now I am working with a rental company and they are willing to take me.But their problem is my profession. (Mason) It is not falling under their category. So kindly tell me any solution for this following questions.
1.Can I transfer my iqama to the company which I works without changing profession.
2. If not,Can I change my profession Mason to Salesman/Technician without attesting my certificates(It will take too much time for attestation).

3. If  attestation is not possible what is the other option for me to work in present company.

4.If release letter is issued can my sponsor can file case (Huroob) against me. (He treatned so many times before)

5.After getting release letter from sponsor what is way of getting exit (If I dont have any other option for staying in KSA)whether I have to go back to sposor or labor/javasath can help for exit without any problem ?
5.Is there any benefit I will get registering in redyellow website ?

Requesting your kind consideration for all this queries ASAP.

Regards

1.Can I transfer my iqama to the company which I works without changing profession.

Without changing profession, it will be difficult since your profession is mason and you are going to rental company.

2. If not,Can I change my profession Mason to Salesman/Technician without attesting my certificates(It will take too much time for attestation).

The best and fastest option for you considering the time limit is to change the profession to "Amil Aadi" or general labor and get the transfer done quickly. Once you have transferred and things are sorted out you have time to attest your certificate and change the profession to a suitable one later.

3. If  attestation is not possible what is the other option for me to work in present company.

See above.

4.If release letter is issued can my sponsor can file case (Huroob) against me. (He treatned so many times before)

If he has given a release letter and if its attested from chamber, his huroob will not stand legal in any court. But under condition that the specified time in the letter has not lapsed. For eg: If he mentions in letter that you need to transfer within 1 month, then the validity of letter is only for a month and after which he reports you - your case can be filed. But if you transfer in one month then no issues.

5.After getting release letter from sponsor what is way of getting exit (If I dont have any other option for staying in KSA)whether I have to go back to sposor or labor/javasath can help for exit without any problem ?

After getting release and if no transfer was done, you can approach labor office and jawazat and ask for final exit and they will arrange this for you.

5.Is there any benefit I will get registering in redyellow website ?

I am not sure what kind of benefit you are expecting, as far as i know its a site where you can see companies which are in red, yellow or green and vacancies to apply. You might get benefit in the sense that you may find a job in a green company through them.

Since he is in red now things will be a bit difficult, but its not the worry of the current sponsor who is in red. Your new company which is in green should change your profession to Labor and then change the profession.

Re: IQAMA TRANSFER & PROFESSION CHANGING

Hi Everyone,
As per the new law anyone can change his profession in any city in the entire kingdom. No need any certificates just pay the Profession fee and send ur Iqama with passport, with in no time they will change the profession because As per the Royal Pardon and Degree all the expatriates can change the professions as per their jobs requirements, So good chance for everyone change the profession and later it will be easy to process the family visa and please don't go for this profession (marketing specialist) This profession will come under the saudization and renewal of iqama will not easy so avoid this profession.

Re: IQAMA TRANSFER & PROFESSION CHANGING

Dear HRGuru/Keith,

Sorry to disturb you again..

Kindly publish the official circular announcing easy profession change.

My sponsor saying that he cannot do profession change because he is in white/red category.

And my company which I works is saying that they cannot transfer   here as my profession (Mason/Tile fixer) is not related to Rental companies activity.

I suggested them the general labor profession as you adviced me earlier. But they are saying I have to do profession change myself.

I dont know what to do now?

Can any general service office can help me for this without any paper from present sponsor or new company .

I have my passport ,igama and release letter with me.

Thanks & regards

You can use a general service office to do that, also before you can inform your sponsor about the 3 months grace period and that professions can be changed. The ruling was published / announced in all leading Arabic daily's as well, so you might want to find one copy if possible.

After the 3 month grace period the govt will resume the checking and eventual deportation of people who are here illegally. This includes "azad visas" as well. Your best chance of staying here is to find a company as soon as possible and change your sponsorship unto them.

Grace period is for people under illegal residence permits and in red / yellow or working under different sponsor etc etc to correct their situation. So if you are now in red / yellow category and working with a different sponsor than your original sponsor then yes you can utilize the grace period. If not and in green then you cannot utilize this.
