Working in KSA without degree

Hello,

I am Croatian living in Jordan with dual citizenship and i received job offer from Jeddah. I have 7 years of experience as HR Manager and i did my interview in Jordan with company owner from Jeddah. He offered me good job position with good salary, unfortunately i have Croatian degree which i should attest from Croatia.I would like to apply without degree it is simple and easier but I am afraid that KSA Embassy will not accept my working visa without degree. However i would like to know is there any possibility for receiving working visa without degree, even if my employer doesn't request degree from me, working visa should be Marketing Specialist and i should inform him do i accept offer or not during next 3 days. I don't know what to say i am really worried about that visa procedure. Please help me.
Thanx

In terms of the employment visa requirements, I believe you'd have to have either a university degree or a training or technical diploma relevant to the type and level of job you're being hired for.

Does the employer assume you have a degree?  Did the job ad state one is required?  I'm not sure how you got through an interview without this being mentioned.  Anyway, you should inform him that you don't have any academic credentials.

Hello smurfette,

Thank you for reply, i got trough interview accordingly to my work experience, it is job for private sector and off course i mentioned that i don't have degree, but employer told me that degree is not required and that he doesn't care if i have degree or not since i have work experience. Later some of my friends told me that i can not receive visa since i don't have degree, so that is the reason i am worried about now. I am not sure if that is main requirement for KSA Embassy or not, and i would appreciate correct information. Also i would like to mention that employer told me that my visa will be Marketing specialist and that Marketing specialist visa does not require degree, so i am not sure is that correct or not. Thank you once again for reply i would appreciate more information.

i dont have a diploma, degree, or anything.  i just have training records and certain course certificates but no full certification or degree.

Thank you for this information, so that means that diploma is not a must? And for example is work experience certificate attested from Jordanian Ministry of Labor enough? And can you tell me what is your position in company? Thank you

my stuff from the US air force was fine.

The best thing you can do right now is to talk about your situation with your future employer because he is the one who knows better what method he's about to use to hire you. There are different methods of getting an iqama and each case is different in terms of paperwork (depending on nationality and other factors).
I know foreigners that didn't even finish high-school and are part of higher management so your case is not unique but, still, you must address your question to those who will take care of your recruitment process.

Thank you Bruckner,

Actually i talked to the owner of the company and he informed me that i shouldn't worry about that, but i got feeling that he is not good informed about procedure because he actually don't know what is the procedure in Jordan for issuing the visa in KSA Embassy. I will try today to reach agents in Jordan to get more info about the procedure. I would be thankful for more information if anyone knows something about this topic. Hope it will work for me i received good offer there.
Have a nice day!

Dear Expats,

I would like to update you with useful information regarding Marketing Specialist. For issuing Marketing Specialist working visa high school degree is enough, it must be attested and it is only working visa which allows you to bring your family without applying University degree. Hope this will be useful for those who would like to come to Saudi Arabia. Wish you a good day!!!!!

Check out the ESL Cafe's international job board (http://www.eslcafe.com/joblist/) to see what qualifications Saudi employers currently require.

If I cant get a teaching job because I dont have a degree would there be other opportunities out there???

Would not mind working in jeddah

You'd have to check sites like saudijobs.com, bayt.com, gulftalent.com, etc., for jobs in Saudi Arabia that match your qualifications/experience/area of expertise (whatever that is).  Frankly, your chances of getting a job are slim because 1) you lack that all-important university degree; 2) you're not fluent in Arabic; 3) you have zero business contacts in the Kingdom; and 4) you're not Saudi (i.e., why hire you from abroad when the job can be done by a Saudi).

Ditto Smurfette.  If there is a national who can do the job, that's who they will hire (and rightfully so).

For job sites, check this out:

Please can you let me if this still is valid and also if there was any further processes required due to change of requirements like University Degree.

@ziaurreman hello,

Please note that this member's post is from 2012, it's been 10 years we haven't heard from him on the forum.

Should you have any questions, you better start a thread of your own on the Jeddah forum.
