Emergency Message for U.S. Citizens

Temporary Closure to the Public

The United States Embassy in Tunisia, including the Consular Section and American Citizen Services (ACS), is closed to the public at this time. U.S. citizens with life-or-death emergencies should call the Embassy at 216-20-337-541. U.S. citizens with questions about routine ACS services, such as passport renewals, should email [email protected]. Updates concerning the availability of public services at the Consular Section will be sent in a subsequent message and posted on the Embassy website.

For the latest security information, U.S. citizens living and traveling abroad should regularly monitor the Department's Bureau of Consular Affairs Internet website athttp://travel.state.gov/, where the current Travel Warning for Tunisia, Travel Alerts, the Worldwide Caution, and Country Specific Information can be found. In addition, the Embassy encourages U.S. citizens to review "A Safe Trip Abroad," which includes valuable security information for those traveling or living in foreign countries. These numbers are available from 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. Eastern Time, Monday through Friday (except U.S. federal holidays). All U.S. citizens in Tunisia are encouraged to enroll in the Smart Traveler Enrollment Program (STEP). By enrolling, U.S. citizens make it easier for the Embassy to contact them in case of emergency.
