Finding work in Laos, especially Luang Prabang - and living costs

Hi ,
I'm currently living and working in Vietnam, and want to go to Laos in Janauary - ideally Luang Prabang.

The general idea is that i focus on my writing - but work part time teaching or editing - I am a qualified CELTA teacher and would look at schools, hotels or private work.

I would also like to know how much it is to rent a small apartment  - or basically what the situation is regarding accomodation.

I cannot afford tourist prices, so any information would be most welcome - equally i am happy to share my experiences working in Vietnam.
