BEIJING China - urgent advice of moral support in Beijing
I am urgently seeking advice [ and possibly local moral support or assistance in Beijing ] for my friend Ed, who is in Beijing with his fiance as she has suffered a motor accident and she is badly injured in hospital.
They are considering getting married asap in view of her injuries.
Can anyone suggest who I can contact to provide some moral support at this difficult time for him.
I am considering flying out from UK if I have to as I am concerned to assist my friend.
I came across this forum and wonder if anyone can suggest anything.
Thanks. all advice and comments appreciated. Kathy

Re: BEIJING China - urgent advice of moral support in Beijing
A bit more information could be useful in getting him some support. I am not being rude with these questions just hoping that more information might good.
Where is his fiance in hospital?
Does he (they) have any friends in Beijing that you could contact? A friend would be much more supportive than a stranger. Are there work colleagues he could contact? Would a church group be helpful?
You said that they might get married ASAP. Are her injuries critical?
I am very sorry for your friends and hope that everything works out for them.

Re: BEIJING China - urgent advice of moral support in Beijing
Thanks for your response.
I understand that her injuries are very serious and she is in an american hospital in Beijing is all I know at the moment.
I suppose I am really looking for a contact with an expat community - if there is any kind of local group that meet anywhere periodically, where and when or if there is a local British comunity in beijing, I could direct him to, in case he wants a friendly face to talk to about nothing etc.
I suppose Beijing is a very big place like London, so am not sure of locations and practical travel etc.
I have now spoken to him again and he has made contact with some local people he met last time he was there, so he now has someone to talk to. [I did panic when I first posted on here, but I am calmer now.] Thanks for your kind thoughts.
Kathy

The most important thing to do is to contact the British embassy, it is their job to help and they have a local community they can mobilise.
