Considering taking a job in Dusseldorf

Hi...I'm entertaining an offer to Dusseldorf. Can anyone point to me to a resource to get an understanding what life over there will be like? I'm interested in finding out about apartments, cost of living, nightlife (restaurants, bars) etc.

FYI, I'm a 32 year old single guy from America.

Thanks!

Jasper

Re: Considering taking a job in Dusseldorf

I'm in a similar situation to move to Duesseldorf from Chicago.  I lived in that area as an exchange student from 92-93 and visited in 1999.  It's a very populated area with lots to do and easy transportation connections all over central Europe.

I have a high school friend who has lived there for 11 years with her partner.  She loves it.

What is your job situation?  I'm looking into working for Berlitz teaching English.  I speak German quite well, but there are always looking for native speakers.
