Finding suitable and safe accommodation

I am a lady in my sixties.  Having worked in Tanzania for six months sharing a volunteer house I felt quite safe and sharing the expense made the rental contribution quite small.  I am hoping to return to TNZ and need to find a place perhaps to share with one/two others. Is it possible to find house share?  I am intending to stay in and around Mwanza any ideas about rents and utilities??  Asante Sana.
