Rental/hire car
Hi All,
Does anyone have information regarding renting/hiring a car on short to mid term (3+ months) basis here in Tripoli. I have been told it is expensive to rent a car here..any information - not only about the rates but rental places and/or other options - is greatly appreciated.

Avis works out at approx 600 Lyd per week for a basic 4 door saloon (1.4L Clio) without driver.
There are many other self-employed drivers with cars in Tripoli, their rates vary from 500 to 1,000 Lyd per month, but it's a case of finding one who you're ok with.

By the way we work in the same field (service company) and I have been to the same few of the places in Western Africa you had been.
Right now I am working for a relatively smaller service company and hence the need for the rental car. Are you aware of any self employed drivers that you mention who are looking for some business?
