i am fed up of waiting for my status adjustment in this country so i ask being European wich would be the best countries to be in.

Why don't you try Canada? There is a huge Portuguese community in Toronto. Contact the Canadian Embassy and ask them. I don't think they are so paranoid as the Americans.
