National Insurance numbers

Hi

Can anyone help please - we're English and my 20 year old daughter wants to get a job here. What does she need to do to get a national insurance number ? Can't seem to get this information anywhere. Thanks

just go to the nearest job centre and get one...take your id card and passport....thats it.

you dont need an offer of a job altho its better if you have one but it really isnt essential.

Its called Social Security Number in Malta, not National Insurance Number

I went to the Department of Social Security in Msida. Here is a list of the addresses around the island. Just pop along with passport and ID card, takes about 5 minutes.

Hope this helps!

Thanks very much for the info everyone. Glad it seems to be straightforward - that must be a 1st for Malta !

most things are straightforward, just different

its normally straightforward as long as you know the rules and take whatever they ask for....otherwise it can be a world of pain...so the watch word is ask the questions no matter how silly you might think they are and do your homework....good luck
