Duvets and Mattresses
Hi Guys,
We are currently waiting for an LMO and then we are off to Alberta. We have sorted out some of the things we can and cannot take and have been in touch with the Liquor Board etc. However, one thing that we cannot seem to resolve is whether we can import our mattress and duvets. Some people say we cannot, others say we can. I have tried all the official websites I can find, but have failed to get a definitive answer. Can any of you offer any guidance? Thanks for the help.

Re: Duvets and Mattresses
I honestly cannot imagine any reason why you wouldn't be allowed to take your mattresses and duvets with you. Did someone tell you this would be a problem? They were probably pulling your leg.
Here are a couple of websites,
Here is the main page of the Canada Border Services Agency, otherwise known as Canada customs: http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/menu-eng.html
This one seems to be the relevant page, and they are only concerned about tobacco, alcohol and cars over 15 years of age.
http://www.cbsa-asfc.gc.ca/publications … .html#P006
If you still aren't sure, there is a contact tab on the web page. I honestly do not think you have anything to worry about if they are standard duvets and matresses.
Good luck!
