Target locked to Southern France - Please help with immigration info

Hello all, a quick question from two Germans moving from New Zealand to France: what is there to keep in mind when shipping all our household stuff back to Europe, specifically France?

I still remember numbering each box and keeping a huge list of all our stuff when we moved to NZ 2 years ago. We also had to hold our things in storage 2 weeks here in Auckland before a government guy came buy to observe if there was any dirt on our bikes or garden furniture. (This understandable hurdle is to prevent pests coming into the country)

It's now a new experience for us (being German) to re-enter Europe as if we were non-EU citizens. I know that we (the people) can settle in France right away and start looking for work, but I wonder what it (the household) will have to do/prove before being able to get back in?

Does anybody know if there are similar agricultural policies for people moving their household from New Zealand to France? And do we have to number the boxes?

Thanks for any information on the subject!
