Driving license in the Virgin Islands

Hi all,

Can a foreigner take the driving test in the Virgin Islands?

What are the formalities to get a driver's licence in the Virgin Islands?

Do you need special or extra documents being an expatriate?

How much does it cost?

Thank you for participating ;).

If a foreigner is a resident of the VI, then they can apply for a license. I'm not sure if they would have to take the written test or not if they held a valid license.
The cost of my license was $10.00 but that was 3 yrs ago. Might be a little higher now as things go up in price.
The documents you'd have to present would be a valid passport and/or other gov't issued ID with a photo if the person did not have a valid driver's license from their home country. Otherwise, if they're already licensed, just the license and a passport. Wouldn't hurt to present a birth certificate either.
There is but one dept of motor vehicles on each island and usually it's a wait once you go thru the doors. Licenses are good for 5 yrs.

Thank you for your help DogloverfromVI! ;)
